WALKING WOUNDED: The Wallabies have made eight changes following Tuesday’s catastrophic loss to Scotland. Sekope Kepu, Tatafu Polota-Nau and Benn Robinson form an all-new front-row while No.8 Wycliff Palu and lock Rob Simmons are the other fresh faces up front. Out wide, Adam Ashley-Cooper returns at full-back while Pat McCabe and Rob Horne will start in the centres. Quade Cooper, (knee), Kurtley Beale (shoulder), James O’Connor (lacerated liver, hamstring) and skipper James Horwill (hamstring) are all unavailable through injury. Wales are missing hulking inside-centre Jamie Roberts through injury but will still field a strong side in the opening match of the three-Test series.
FORM: The Wallabies slumped to their second straight loss against lowly Scotland in horrendous conditions in Newcastle on Tuesday night. They spent almost the entire second half in Scotland territory and mindlessly beat their heads against a brick-wall defence without even trying to use their backline. Major improvements are needed to beat Warren Gatland’s side. Wales finished fourth at the Rugby World Cup but were the second-best side at the tournament behind New Zealand. They continued their rise in the northern winter, claiming the Six Nations title with an unbeaten campaign before tuning up for their Australian tour with a 30-21 win over the UK Barbarians to extend their unbeaten run to six matches.
