WALKING WOUNDED: The Wallabies have named an unchanged 22 but are sweating on the fitness of tighthead prop Sekope Kepu who suffered an arm injury in the first Test. Full-back Kurtley Beale (shoulder) was not considered for the second straight week while fellow stars Quade Cooper (knee), James O’Connor (lacerated liver, hamstring) and skipper James Horwill (hamstring) are also unavailable. Wales have lost gun No.8 Toby Faletau (broken hand) for the remainder of the tour while giant winger George North is in doubt with a leg injury suffered in the loss to the Wallabies in Brisbane.
FORM: The Wallabies bounced back from one of their most embarrassing defeats at the hands of Scotland with a much-improved showing against the Six Nations champions. It wasn’t a perfect performance from Robbie Deans’ men, who let the Welsh back into the contest before holding on for a three-tries-to-two victory. The forwards set the tone with one of their better performances in recent times, both at the breakdown and the scrum, and half-back Will Genia basically did the rest. Wales had their chances but failed to turn them into points to let the Wallabies off the hook. If fly-half Rhys Priestland was able to drag in Sam Warburton’s wild pass midway through the second half, the tourists would have certainly scored to take the lead. Instead, he dropped the ball and the visitors suffered their first loss in seven matches.
