MISSING IN ACTION: The Broncos have been hit hard by Origin duty with seven players – Justin Hodges, Matt Gillett, Ben Te’o, Sam Thaiday, Petero Civoniceva, Ben Hannant and Corey Parker – in camp with Queensland. There is a chance that at least one of those players could be released from the Maroons squad to play on Friday night. The new faces are winger Lachlan Maranta, while Mitchell Dodds, Brendon Gibb, Dunamis Lui, Aaron Whitchurch, Jarrod Wallace, Nick Slyney and Kurt Baptiste are in the forwards and on the bench.

Cronulla coach Shane Flanagan is only without two of his stars, although they are big omissions, with Todd Carney replaced by Chad Townsend at five-eighth while Wade Graham will lock the scrum in the absence of skipper Paul Gallen. Andrew Fifita makes a return from injury on the bench.
