WALKING WOUNDED: Rebels flyhalf Kurtley Beale will miss the match after undergoing shoulder surgery on Monday. The reigning John Eales Medallist is considered a chance to make his return for the Wallabies against Wales late next month. With James O’Connor also sidelined with a lacerated liver and a hamstring strain suffered while training with the Wallabies on Wednesday, James Hilgendorf will assume the playmaking duties. Inside-centre Lachie Mitchell (concussion) has been rested, with skipper Stirling Mortlock returning to the starting side in the No.12 jumper.
Brumbies coach Jake White has rested Sam Carter, Dan Palmer and Ita Vaea for the clash, with Leon Power, Fotu Auelua and Scott Sio all back in the squad. Promising openside flanker Colby Faingaa is in line for his first appearance of the season following an ankle injury suffered in the pre-season, named on the bench. Full-back Robbie Coleman gets his second start of the season at full-back, forcing Jesse Mogg to the wing.
